PVC edge banding is primarily composed of polyvinyl chloride and is manufactured through processes such as compounding, calendering, and vacuum blistering. These products are widely utilized in furniture, office equipment, kitchen cabinetry, educational facilities, and residential laboratories. Available in thicknesses ranging from 0.3 mm to 3 mm and widths from 12 mm to 80 mm, the product exhibits the following key characteristics: a smooth surface free of bubbles or drag marks; moderate luster; flat and even front and back surfaces; uniform thickness and consistent width; appropriate hardness and high elasticity; superior quality; and strong abrasion resistance. Furthermore, after trimming, the color of the edge banding's cut profile closely matches its surface color-without whitening-ensuring excellent visual appeal and overall color harmony in the finished furniture product.

The primary function of edge banding is to seal the exposed edges of board materials. This serves to protect the board from damage caused by adverse environmental factors and usage conditions (primarily moisture), while simultaneously preventing the emission of formaldehyde from within the board's core. Concurrently, it fulfills an aesthetic role, enhancing the decorative appeal of the finished product.
